A New Chapter
Ghost Theatre is a new establishment but we have been producing and developing art consistently for the last 10 years. After years of pushing for projects that didn’t gain the traction that we wanted it to, I decided to start my own company. There are tons of start-up production companies that have lofty goals but I didn’t want to become another one of the entries in the faded pack. I wanted to bring something new and fresh to all forms of entertainment in the Kansas City area. I felt that the process in which new ideas were created and old ideas were presented—they weren’t done in efficient or healthy ways. Part of the goal of the new company is to eventually creates a catalogue of films, plays, podcasts, viral content, and live entertainment that helps build a strong community and a safe space for those who do not usually feel it. Oftentimes, struggling artists can feel like a “ghost” that is trying to be seen but we want to unveil those who are struggling with that. We want to give them a voice. The visual and performance arts can be a grind but I strongly feel that it doesn’t have to be—it should feel like a home that is always open for those who need it.
So whether you are an audience member, a prospective artist, or a fellow producer that wants to be a part of something— we hope that you keep an eye out for all of the content that we plan to produce in the coming years, in addition to the ones we have done in the past. Feel free to peruse our site and find some of the previous work that we were associated with and behind. As we continue to build our brand and catalogue, hopefully we see you along the way.
